21 Aralık ve Kış Gündönümü (Janua coeli). Bugün Ulu
Ana Tanrıça, Gökyüzü (Cennet) Kraliçesi’nin Işığın
Oğlu’nu doğurduğu gün. Kış Gündönümü Oğlak’tadır
ve “tanrıların kapısı”dır. Güneş’in yükselişini
ve büyüyen gücünü temsil eder. “Janua”
Latincede kapı anlamına gelir ve kapıların bekçisi,
zamanın yöneticisi Janus da adını ondan alır. Elinde
iki anahtar olduğu rivayet edilen Janus gündönümlerinin kapılarını
bu anahtarla açar. Kış Gündönümü’nü altın anahtar
ile, Yaz Gündönümünü ise gümüş anahtar ile.

Today
is Dec. 21 and Winter Solstice (Janua coeli). Today is the day that Great
Mother, Queen of Heaven gives birth to the Son of Light. Winter Solstice
is in Capricorn and it is “the door of the gods”. It symbolizes ascent
and growing power of the Sun. In Latin "janua” means the door and
it is the root of the name of Janus, the guardian (janitor) of the doors
and the master of time. It is said that there were two keys in hold of
Janus by which he opened the gates of solstices. Winter Solstice by the
golden key, Summer Solstice by the silver one.
